Semantic is not an option. I don’t care what is searching the majority of Google users, you cannot suggest a different meaning for my search, it’s simply wrong, it seems that you Google are trying to modify my need to know something, with something else you would like me to know. Please stop.

Some days ago Christians defended Muslims during their prayers from the attack of police, here’s the video, and here some pictures.

Last year I was imagining this could happen, I hope this gets fixed as soon as possible. (I took this screenshot today February 7th, 2011 on Google.it)

*update: March 2011 – Fixed! Thanks Google

banksy's online shop

i’m watching the documentary with banksy (Exit Through the gift shop) and i’m flashed with a quote: “he was accidentally focusing on something”. The video is about a guy who got crazy filming everything and one day found a “passion” or well, some one to follow.

That’s the same concept behind the whole “ecole de la respiration” of Itsuo Tsuda when he wrote “le non-faire”. That means “not doing” when obviously you are always doing something, since you breath and you live. But your brain thinks differently, your brain when it’s getting bored thinks it’s not doing anything. That’s the beginning.

Now it’s a sunny day here in Italy and got to meet a friend, or doing a business, i don’t know the limits yet. But i’m happy.

Update: it has probably been a while since i wrote something because of the instinct. That kind of blogging died probably when i understood that i could make money and/or living simply by thinking a little more before hitting “publish”. Anyway it’s night, i’m back from my sunny day and i finished watching banksy’s documentary. Well, my favorite doc this year is “The Yes Men Fix the world”, banksy is second. and he’s got a nice sense of humor. Strange how he seems so shy with his identity and he lets us see his hands (that tell a lot about his inner behavior) and well, all that embarrassed people speaking about the videomaker gone crazy are pretty interesting. Anyway he just seems to love making money, and since he succeeds well, that’s a big fuck you in the face of all the art enthusiasts around. Bad ending art lovers, sorry. I don’t understand when they seem to change their idea about the videomaker, when he wants to play their game probably. It all became a little “forged” and “forced”, the whole building of good sentiments and true passion leading the actions of the enlighten guy… fells.

Anyway, i don’t know if banksy was really searching for a friend and if it’s all about such a primordial need, or if it’s about the eternal fight between money and true feelings. They got to publish something understandable and something you can speak about, so they probably failed at banksy’s game of making everyone speechless. On the video you have to tell a story, if there is no story, everything is true but not understandable, like the first “life remote control” movie. If you get to understand it, it’s probably crap, that’s what “true” artists seem to say. Anyway people says when someone is an artist, like the market thing.

if banksy really wanted a new friend, all he probably got has been a business partnership and maybe some ideas for his online shop.

my wonder for abandoned places and industrial deserts is at a tipping point. Now that in America they have a second Torino, (they call it “detroit in a cool documentary” ) finally the hipsters can go inside modern ruins and paint everything like a child would paint his father’s work serious desk.

My father sometimes complains his generation did not left us a nice world to live, but I think that anyone can decide how to spend his time, building, painting or watching tv instead.

Just in front of my house there is a nice park, with an abandoned building just in the center. It’s pretty big, it used to be an hotel. Just like my past life, i see it every time i go to the station, and i feel what they call “interior landscapes“.

Images of a great past, that now fells in ruins it’s not just industrial archeology, the teacher told me also great emperors had a mythological vision of their roots, to justify a despicable present, mostly.

i feel like a bored Ulysses with the urgent need for new adventures. too bad the island is far far away.

when you have an hard task to finish, or when you have a too easy job to do, procrastinating while watching a TV Show is one of the best things that a man can get from life. In our society devoted to the wellness and to the deep repudiation of all the pains, we need a constant, always available hug feeling. What still reminds us that we are human is not thinking that there is someone you can help outside your house, it’s a TV program that still can entertain, inside your house. Anyway, your’re not here to read my complains about society, you are here to read my reviews, since everyone knows they are the best on the planet.

1st- Best TV serie of the 2010

Fringe (season 2)

Fringe has the best main plot i’ve seen on TV since Quantum Leap. Fringe it’s not just science fiction, it is an alternative way of seeing the human being drama, with one of the best actors on earth (John Noble), and nice single episode plots. I cannot really say anything about the plot since it has so many turnups that i don’t want to spoil them to you. My favorite character is John Noble’s crazy scientist with an insane passion for everything that’s not even imaginable, warning: incredibly intense acting. As the season goes on the writers seem to forget the characters’ personal stories since they must subdue to the almighty plot, it’s a very nice plot so it becomes the job of the actors to keep the characters alive, and they do it quite well.

2nd- Best TV Serie of 2010

Lie To me (season 2)

Lie To Me is Tim Roth’s point of view on acting. Main topic should be modern behavioral science and the whole tv show is about lie detection based on the influences of emotions on the innate facial expressions and body language. Anyway it’s not really about ways of detecting lies, it’s about acting school, so since i’m a wannabe actor, that’s my daily bread. Too bad the main plot is completely hidden by too many useless fillers.

3rd- Best Tv Serie of 2010

Walking Dead (1st season)

The slowest and more intense horror tv show i’ve ever seen. The main plot seems nice but it really never develops since the narrative time is impossibly slow. The director somehow incredibly gets to film everything with an amazing suspense, that many times for me it’s too much, and my girlfriend hears me screaming like a little chicken. I don’t really like the acting of these guys but i imagine that represent fear about 200 times a day it’s difficult, so i forgive the actors.

4rt- Best TV Serie of 2010

Grey’s Anatomy (5th season)

Grey’s Anatomy is probably a cult because of the omnipresent narration voice, cool characters and impossible science in action while people is arguing about sex and continuous mating between hospital crew. They probably don’t know how to develop each character personal story, as time passes by, they just get obsessed with something. one is obsessed with sex, one is obsessed by solitude, one is obsessed by his autistic wife, one is obsessed by her virginity, one is obsessed by his crazy family members, one is obsessed with her being lesbian, one was obsessed with alchool but now he’s better.

5th- Best Tv Serie of 2010

Breaking Bad

The main character is a cult, anyway i got bored after the first 2 episodes. So why is it in the top 5? Because my expert tv show consultant says it’s one of the best tv series ever so i trust him. I simply do not find enough interesting things in the human story of the main guy. He breaks bad, but he seems to have all the moral issues that he should have broken, so i see a mega-moral haunting the whole show (= bad).

5 bonus Fillers

The big Bang theory: funny

true blood: crappy special effects + vampires + wonderful ending of the third season.

the sopranos: i got bored after the first 20 minutes, but again my TV show consultant says it’s worth it, then it gets in the post.

what i know about your mom: my sister likes this, i haven’t seen a single episode.

psych: i use it to learn english, and i like the flashbacks.

See here the updated Social Fiction TV Series and Movie Excel review

Do you have some kind of intelligent spam/bad word/malware filter? Do you ban me because I have already been marked as a spammer by my friends or you just make impossible to say something for all of us? The filter is working only for single words or you have some kind of semantic filter that censors certain meanings?

One thing is certain this message could not be posted on Facebook, because i just wrote Goatse.cx at the end of it. Okay? You do not agree? No problem, just hit Okay and shut up.

Ah, do I have to ask for a permission?

why Search engines and Google should stop following business models around people and get back to show the world as a data source with a transparent history.

Let me see a wiki-like index for each search result, let me see the sources quoted in the content on each snippet!

Google was built with data in mind, and since the algorithm was born our idea of information changed. Today data is what a multitude* says it’s worth. If there was a time yesterday when data was absolute, today it’s relative, mutable, fluid and real time. Do we know the exact people that generate a constant flux of reliable data? Much of what we consider data relies on predictions of futures that may exist only in some niches. The ecology of information should be better known, meanwhile we just give computers to our children without a proper social/emotive training, and they build constant, unverified raw content.

Some years ago we won in our newsletter software niche (when i was a SEO for Sendblaster) because my boss first understood that we had to treat SERPs from the final user perspective, we were monitoring SERP’s clic through rates three years before Google made public their involvement in the results and years before the caffeine official roll-out.

Young generations live the web and the communication medias in a instinctive way, they forget to search what’s inside the people they are speaking with. Their ethics are born on their mistakes since there is no-one that can really speak to the new generations, they grow alone and they are asked to teach what’s technology to their parents. And there is no training to understanding what’s information and what’s advertising.

Now the userbase may be fragmented among Internet trend setters and simple lurkers or even worse… categorized as marketers.

I need a transparent search engine that explains how to re-connect data to reliable data sources, a search engine that admits its responsibility while influencing economy and web development.

Those Facebook messages have some interest for marketers searching for their brand’s success, and for countless other uses, and they also contain useful data on human experiences of the world. Private profile messages may be anonymized for privacy issues, but pretending that the social network still remains private is like living in a world with no maps or pictures of public places.

Thoughts change and they are useful only with the history of those changes.

*multitude: the concept of multitude is easy, it is a person who represents a multitude of people.

Update: seems someone else got puzzled with SERP personalization.

The speaker touches a giant oled screen and the audience see through the screen the speaker and the media displayed by a software that hides everything that on screen should be white. Simple lateral idea. I wonder if something like this already exists. Would be cool for keynotes, on-line teaching, etc.

Google, how will you avoid unintentional censorship?

Imagine a search engine capable to predict the real meaning of user’s queries beyond their knowledge gaps, we are not that far.

The spelling auto correction tools could be extended to let users know something that everyone else already knows, beyond the present knowledge of single users.

A search engine used as a knowledge tool, is still a search engine? Can we search something we did not imagine that exist? Google already proved that we can search for something we don’t even know the correct name yet. How deep can you go, Google?

I feel like an elastic rubber band, between my ideas of a free knowledge market and customer’s will to do some business together. Google seems to experience a similar (not yet painful) division between what Google can give for free and its ads.

This month I got more conversions from Facebook Ads than from AdWords. Maybe I’m just a poor marketer, but maybe something is changing.

Update: Maybe a lot of little numbers will give us some answers, just like a lot of lines can draw something similar to a circle, we just have to remember that approximation of reality is not reality, and approximation may change the perception itself of reality (if reality exists, of course).

At the moment the search feature is available with the operator *.
See the full list of Google Features here.

Update: it happened to me on february 7th 2011

Update: apparently i was not the only one concerned about it

Update: but i still want an index history
